Witold grew up and lived in Poland until age sixteen, spent his formative teenage years in China before moving to Hong Kong where he currently lives.
Outdoors adventures were a significant part of Witold’s life since childhood, with parents taking him everywhere between the Carpathian Mountains and the Baltic Sea coast for multi-day hikes, camping trips or orienteering competitions. With a gifted caving expert for an uncle, talented swimmer for an aunt, and a shelf-full of yellow National Geographic issues for inspiration, bigger adventures were never far off the radar.
Witold found his calling in ultra distance events after finishing university. Enjoying solitary ten hour runs, and having completed races such as 4 Deserts Gobi March and Hong Kong 100, he went on to apply the experience in designing the very first ISF Skyrunner World Series race in China – the Yading Skyrun 2016, followed by a rugged desert race – the Devil’s Ridge, and possibly the world’s highest VK finishing at just above 5000m. Witold was also involved with helping manage one of the most successful online outdoor stores in Asia.
After relocating to Hong Kong in 2017, Witold continued his passion for the sport and the outdoors in general as the manager of both APA’s Outdoor Shop and product distribution division.
