How every camp day works

Learning by doing.

Some of life’s most important lessons can’t be taught in a classroom. They have to be experienced. The APA Learning Cycle shapes how each whole program is designed, from the first day to the last, and how every activity within it runs. It’s the same experiential learning method we use with 50+ international schools, so campers come home with transferable skills, not just great memories.

Safety

We set the safety standards schools trust. On every holiday camp.

Hong Kong’s largest open-enrolment outdoor camp provider runs on the same safety systems APA uses with international schools. When you compare camps, ask about ratios, qualifications and background checks. Here are ours.

How we keep campers safe

Ratios set by the activity1 facilitator to 12 for general activities, 1 to 9 for hiking and gorge walking, and 1 to 6 for water and high-ropes activities. A camp manager oversees every program.
Paddle UK’s delivery partner in AsiaAudited by Paddle UK, the governing body, and trusted to train and certify other coaches.
Qualified, background-checked facilitatorsQualifications from Paddle UK, the Mountain Leader Training Board, NZOIA and Wilderness Medical Associates. Every facilitator is first-aid certified; most are Wilderness First Responders.
International best practiceRisk assessments built on best practice from the UK, US and New Zealand, refined over 25 years leading outdoor education in Asia. Prevention over cure.

One week at camp makes a lasting difference, and coming back takes it further. Each season has a different focus and new themes every year, so returning campers build on their skills instead of repeating them.

Beyond Hong Kong · New for summer 2027

Summer programs across Asia, with the team that already works there.

APA has run school programs in 10+ countries for over two decades. Now we’re opening those destinations to families, starting this summer with Thailand and a Cebu diving trip for teens 13+, where campers can earn their SSI or PADI Open Water or Advanced certification. We meet campers at the destination airport.
