Description

The Role of Outdoor Facilitator


This role is for people who want to work outdoors, leading groups of students on experiential learning programs in incredible environments across Hong Kong & Asia. You’ll lead activities, manage your group, and help students learn from experience through structured reviews and discussion.


Some days are tough. Some days are brilliant. Most days are both.


Contract Options for Autumn/Fall 2026

  • Full-season contract (September to  mid December)
  • Peak-season contract (mid-October to mid-November)

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Lead activities and guide group learning through structured reviews and discussion
  2. Support students to build confidence, resilience, and independence
  3. Take full responsibility for your group, ensuring safety, wellbeing, and engagement
  4. Manage risk in changing environments and adapt plans on the ground
  5. Promote respect for the environment and responsible behaviour outdoors

Job Requirements:

  1. Over 21 years old and available to work in Hong Kong for an agreed period between September and mid-December 2026
  2. Experience leading groups of young people in outdoor or experiential learning settings
  3. Hold a national governing body (NGB) qualification to independently lead at least one outdoor activity (e.g. paddlesport leader, paddlesport instructor, paddlesport coach, rock climbing instructor, or mountain leader) from organisations such as Paddle UK, Mountain Training UK & Ireland, NZOIA (or the equivalent in your country)
  4. Valid and current First Aid, BLS, and CPR certification
  5. Current clean, nationally-recognised Criminal Record Check/Sexual Conviction Record Check
  6. Able to work long, active days including overnight programs
  7. Strong judgement, initiative, and willingness to take responsibility

The Role of Program Coordinator


This role is for people who want to run experiential learning programs for school groups across Hong Kong and Asia. You’ll lead the APA team on program, manage the client, and take responsibility for how the program is delivered, keeping standards high from start to finish.


Your goal is simple. Help us deliver world-class programs that enable young people to reach their full potential.


Contract Options for Autumn/Fall 2026

  • Full-season contract (September to mid-December)
  • Peak-season contract (mid-October to mid-November)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for the program, including students, staff, logistics, and delivery
  • Lead and manage staff, setting roles, expectations, and standards
  • Manage risk, solve problems, and make decisions on the ground
  • Lead the client relationship, including briefings, communication, reviews, and feedback
  • Deliver the program as planned, adapting as needed to keep it on track

Job Requirements

  • Over 25, and available to work in Hong Kong for an agreed period between September and mid-December 2026. Able to work long, active days including residential and multi-day programs
  • Experience running programs with young people in outdoor or experiential learning settings
  • Experience leading staff teams
  • Confident managing communication with teachers or group leaders
  • Strong judgement, clear communication, ability to stay calm and make decisions as plans change
  • Hold a national governing body (NGB) qualification to independently lead one or more outdoor activities (e.g. paddlesport leader, paddlesport instructor, paddlesport coach, rock climbing instructor, or mountain leader) from organisations such as Paddle UK, Mountain Training UK & Ireland, NZOIA or the equivalent in your country
  • Valid and current First Aid, BLS, and CPR certification (Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder preferred)
  • Current clean, nationally-recognised Criminal Record Check/Sexual Conviction Record Check
