Booking & payment

Booking a camp

Booking takes a few minutes online.

Choose a camp on the Winter 2026 page and press Book. This opens the Camp APA enrolment form, where you pay online to confirm your place. Places are first come, first served, and we can’t hold a place for someone who hasn’t booked yet.
By credit or debit card in the enrolment form (secure payment by Stripe). If you can’t pay by card, WhatsApp us on 5509 8548 and we’ll arrange another way to pay.
Yes. For Winter 2026, use code WINTER26 for 10% off when you book before Sunday 15 November.
Remaining places show in the enrolment form when you select a camp. If a camp is full, join the waitlist in the same form and we will contact you if a place opens up.
Campers need to be within the age range when the camp starts. We can make an exception for campers 1 to 2 months either side of the range, or up to 6 months if they are joining an older sibling or friend in the same program and both are comfortable with that. WhatsApp us to check.
Yes. Add their names in the Friend/Sibling Grouping section of the enrolment form, with the person they most want to be with first. We will always place at least two together, though very large friend groups may be split.
Camp days

On the day

On day camps, campers bring their own snack and packed lunch, and we provide filtered water refills all day. There is no fridge or microwave on site, so pack food that keeps: sandwiches, rice balls, fruit and nut-free snack bars. On overnight camps, all meals are provided from the first dinner; tell us about allergies in the enrolment form.
Just personal items: a day pack, water bottle, lunch and snacks, hat and weather-appropriate clothes. APA provides all safety and technical equipment. You’ll receive a full kit list after booking, and there’s a summary in the packing list below.
Please WhatsApp, email or call us so we don’t wait for them at Central Pier 9. Missed days can’t be refunded.
Yes, when it’s safe and appropriate to. Photos are shared with you by Google Drive link after the camp.
Cameras are fine; a waterproof or disposable one is best. We prefer campers don’t bring phones; if they do, phones are used only at set times, and staff phones are always available to reach you. Camp APA can’t be responsible for lost or damaged belongings.

Safety & staff

Who looks after campers

Ratios are set by how technical each activity is. General land activities run at 1 facilitator to 12 campers. Hiking and gorge walking run at 1 to 9, with extra staff on safety. Water sports and high-ropes activities run at 1 to 6. Navigators groups are managed at 1 to 12, with roped climbing at 1 to 6. A camp manager oversees every program.
APA’s team holds qualifications from internationally recognised governing bodies, including Paddle UK (formerly British Canoeing), the Mountain Leader Training Board, the New Zealand Outdoor Instructors Association and US-based Wilderness Medical Associates. Every new staff member completes APA’s induction training, and every facilitator is background-checked.
Yes. Every staff member is at least first-aid certified, and most are Wilderness First Responder certified. Every lead carries a radio, phone and first aid kit.
APA is Paddle UK’s delivery partner in Asia: audited by them, and trusted to train and certify other coaches. Our risk assessments and Safety Management System draw on best practice from the UK, US and New Zealand, and have been refined over 25 years of school and holiday programs across Asia. Safety is part of our culture: prevention over cure.
No. Everyone wears a personal flotation device for any water activity deeper than knee height, and water activities run at 1 facilitator to 6 campers. Every activity works on challenge by choice, so no camper is ever forced to take part.
Policies

Changes, weather and cancellations

Places are paid in full when you book, because transport and staffing are arranged in advance. For Hong Kong camps: 25% of the fee is a non-refundable deposit. Cancel more than 60 days before the camp starts for a 75% refund; between 60 and 8 days before for a 50% refund; fewer than 8 days before, no refund is possible. No refunds are made for days missed or if a camper leaves part-way through.
Email camp@apa.co. We can usually move a booking if there’s a place on the new camp, the request is at least 2 weeks before it starts, it doesn’t change the staffing needed, and there’s a valid reason.
APA may adjust activities, timings or locations for safety. Every day also has a planned wet-weather alternative. If a Black Rainstorm Warning or Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above is in force at 6:30am, that day is cancelled; if it’s lowered before 6:30am, camp runs as normal. We’ll let you know as soon as possible.
Yes. Cancelled days aren’t refunded, but we run a make-up day, usually on the following Saturday, and let you know the dates if more than one day is affected.
Camp APA programs are designed entirely by our camp team, with new themes every season and a progression from Discoverers to Navigators. Campers come from many schools, so it’s a great way to make new friends.
