Navigator Camps are designed for the age group to improve their technical and soft skills as they progress through the week. They will navigate through different areas of Hong Kong using water as a medium. Giant SUP, Kayak and Stand Up Paddleboard will be our way to venture into the waters while developing paddling skills. Teamwork, leadership, resilience, and risk-taking are some of the aspects they will build on throughout the week.
Itinerary (Navigator Day Camp)
Teams will depart for Lamma Island on a ferry from Central Pier. After arriving on Lamma, participants will engage in a series of team building challenges developed to promote their social skills as well as getting to know their new teammates. Teams will then familiarize themselves with coasteering safety and spotting techniques before they head off on a coasteering journey across the rugged coastline. Along the way they will explore the spectacular views on Lamma’s shore before heading back to Central Pier.
Teams will head to Ping Nam Stream in Fanling for an extended gorge trek in a remote area. Participants will learn how to safely trek through technical terrain and help each other as a team get through more challenging sections. Along the way there will be various rock pools to take a refreshing dip before continuing the rest of the journey.
Teams will head to Wu Kai Sha Beach for the day where they will learn about water safety, basic rescues and practice various scenarios. The rest of the day will be spent stand up paddleboarding, during which participants will learn SUP skills before heading out on a mini-journey to remote beaches around the area.
Teams will depart for Clearwater Bay where they will hike along the scenic Lobster Bay before heading to the coastline to explore the remote Green Egg Island. Participants will learn to snorkel around the clear waters of Green Egg Island and discover some of the local marine life. After an afternoon on the remote island, the group will head back onto the trail and finish up the day by hiking out.
