“Exploration is curiosity put into action.”

The Explorer Camps are designed for younger children to explore nature and the outdoors with old and new friends. They learn new skills, explore their natural surroundings and the wildlife around them while gaining knowledge and experience. While in camp, they will learn to be independent, organized and build self-confidence.

The exact order of activity days and locations may vary for each individual camp and registered participants should refer to the itinerary in their Information Pack for the most accurate itinerary.

Itinerary (Explorer Water Camp)

Hoi Ha Wan – Snorkeling & Marine Life Discovery

Participants will head into Hoi Ha Marine Reserve which sits at the very tip of Sai Kung Country Park. The pristine waters and the sheltered bay provide the perfect location for water activities. At Hoi Ha, participants will spend the day discovering marine life by snorkeling around various locations of the marine reserve and learn of the importance of some of the habitats that only reside at Hoi Ha.

Pak Tam Chung – Stream Exploration & Village Heritage Hike

Participants will head to Pak Tam Chung to discover a beautiful freshwater stream. Participants will work together to learn about and explore the freshwater stream environment where they will discover wildlife and plants around Sai Kung. Along the way we will hike along a trail with rural heritage sites that have existed for centuries and learn more about the history of Sai Kung and the country park.

Lamma Island – Mini-Coasteering & Scavenger Hunt

Participants will take a ferry to Lamma where participants will have the opportunity to discover the beauty of this island. After arriving at Lamma Island teams will head to one of the many beaches to take part in a Scavenger Hunt around the area. The afternoon will be spent coasteering along the rocky shore to discover Lamma’s beautiful natural scenery before taking the ferry back to Central.
