Itinerary (Adventurer Winter Short Day Camp 3 days)

Victoria Peak – Navigation Skills & Hike

Participants will start the day on the Peak. After getting to know their team, they will work on their navigation skills, gaining practical experience of using a map and compass. Their goal is to hike to Pinewood Battery, a historic military site dating back to 1901. They will see positions that housed large anti-aircraft guns, and were bombed during WWII. They will then carry on their hike all the way to the next hill, Mt Davis, home to another spectacular set of WWII defenses.

Ap Lei Pai – Rock Climbing & Abseiling

Participants will head to Ap Lei Pai, an uninhabited island just off Aberdeen. They will hike to the starting point for their high element adventure, with great views of the East Lamma Channel. After going through a helmet and harness safety session, participants will enjoy a session of outdoor rock climbing, finding their way up steep natural rock walls. The second activity will be abseiling down sea cliffs.

Tai Tam Country Park – Gorge Walk

Participants will head to Tai Tam Country Park. At the start of the walk, they will get beautiful views of century-old reservoirs. They will put on helmets and find a small trail to the start of the gorge walk. Working together as a team, they will scramble on rocky terrain, clambering over a series of obstacles. Each section of the Tai Tam gorge has a very distinct feel, with steep sides, clear mountain pools, small waterfalls, rock fields, finishing with giant smooth slabs. They will discover the unique flora and fauna that reside within this remote and fragile ecosystem.
