Navigator Emergency Response

Navigator Emergency Response is one of the most comprehensive first aid, water safety, and leadership programs for youth in Hong Kong. At the end of the week participants will walk away with a certification in first aid that is valid in Hong Kong and overseas for 3 years, crisis management and leadership skills, and a range of ocean water rescue techniques.

This program is perfect for those who are looking to gain valuable life skills while making new friends and having a great time.

First Aid Plus

For the first aid component of the program we have partnered with First Aid Plus who will provide internationally qualified first aid instructors. First Aid Plus is the Hong Kong licensed centre for First Aid International (UK) and have been offering first aid courses to adults and children for over 10 years.

The course that participants will complete is the Sports and Activity First Aid. There is no previous requirements to undertake this course and the certification remains valid for 3 years.

Course information


Day 1Beach team building 

The week begins with a chance to get to know each other through some land and water team building initiatives and scenarios on Lamma Island. The group will also be introduced to some key leadership and crisis management principles.

Day 2 – First Aid Instruction

This will be the first of two days spent learning the theory and practical skills for sports and activity first aid. The instruction will cover all basic first aid procedures while also focusing on how these concepts can be applied in a sport and outdoor setting.

Day 3 – First Aid Instruction

The second day of the first aid instruction will continue on from the day before.

Day 4 – Water Rescue Skills

The focus of today will be on learning and practicing water rescue techniques. These techniques are based on internationally recognised water rescue procedures and range from general swimmer rescues to kayak and SUP rescues. There will also be instruction on how to read weather and ocean conditions in order to understand when it is safe to enter the ocean.

Day 5 – Final Scenarios and Certificate Presentation Party

The entire week builds up to this final day as participants will be given the opportunity to show what they have learnt in a series of scenarios. These scenarios will cover both first aid on land and water rescues. After the scenarios in the morning there will be a certificate presentation with BBQ lunch and some fun water activities to relax after a big week!
