Historic year continues for APA's athlete team, Champion System Adventure

The spring/summer racing season across Asia, USA, and Europe brought many challenges, exciting travels, and fresh opportunities for the Champion System Adventure team to test itself against the best in our region and the world.

Chung opened things up with a bang, winning the 100km distance of the biggest trail running event of the year in the Philippines, The North Face 100.  The event was held in Baguio region of Luzon for the 3rd year and is one of the most technically demanding 100km race courses on Earth.

Soon after in Hong Kong, Jay and Ryan brought back the Action Asia Challenge (AAC) trophy to the team in historic fashion with a remarkable 33 minute margin of victory.  They led the race from start to finish against a field full of past winners and an adventure racing world champion.  The AAC, which involves mountain biking, trail running, kayaking and rope skills, again proved to be the most competitive and technical one day adventure race in Asia.

Stone had another amazing spring/summer with high-placing finishes against the world's top trail runners in both Japan's UTMF and Europe's iconic UTMB.  As a result, he currently sits in 6th position overall on the ULTRA TRAIL WORLD TOUR, a new global ranking system based on results in the world's leading 100km-100mile trail running races.   Stone has clearly now set himself apart as the most successful Chinese trail runner in history.

Safrey, normally a mountain running short-course specialist, won Malaysia's largest trail running event, Borneo's TMBT, in just his second 100km race. Incredible.

Last, but certainly not least, was Jay's phenomenal effort in this summer's mountain bike All-Mountain World Championships in California. In the XC competition Jay battled up front with the leaders and finished 6th Overall in his first attempt at this highly competitive race.   Jay's performance as the unknown rider from Thailand living with Monks in a temple was one of the highlight stories of this years event.
