Champion System takes over naming sponsorship of APA's Athlete team

new Champion System and APA athelte team partnership

Champion System steps up to become naming sponsor for Asia's top adventure athlete team.

Global custom sports clothing company, Champion System, has agreed to a new partnership with Asia Pacific Adventure's Athlete team by taking naming rights of the team and announcing the new team to be called: Champion System Adventure.

The North Face, previously the teams naming sponsor, will continue to play an active role as the team's #2 sponsor and supplier of the teams technical footwear and equipment. Specialized Bicycles is also an important team sponsor and global market leader that continues it's support.

Champion System founder Louis Shih expressed, "We are very excited to expand our support for this team in 2010 as they have clearly proved over the past few years to be the most successful adventure multi-sport team in Asia. We hope our technical custom apparel for trail running, mountain biking and adventure racing will continue to help them pursue their passion and also keep them on the podium."

Certainly the 2010 campaign could not have started better for the adventure team that is already coming off four solid years of success around Asia. Earlier in the year, Stone and Darren finished 1st & 2nd overall in the 2009-10 King of the Hills Series (the most competitive for trail running in Asia), and both had many other trail and road running wins. In March, Piers and Ryan won Thailand's biggest adventure race, River Kwai Trophy.

To keep things on track, the first three events under Champion System Adventure have been great successes. Darren managed an overall champion result in the 34th annual Mt. Butler running race and broke the course record in the Bonaqua Action Sprint event a week later. Then on March 21st in Hong Kong, Stone and Ryan managed to convincingly win by 24 minutes in a new adventure race involving orienteering, mountain biking, kayaking, trail running, biathlon, and rock scrambling over a large 28km section of Lantau Island.

Team Director, Ryan S. Blair stated, "We are extremely stoked to keep working with a global brand and company like Champion System, and take our partnership to a new level. Their passion for success and innovation make them an ideal partner for the team and Asia Pacific Adventure."

Team Champion System Adventure consists of 8 endurance sport champions based in Mainland China, Taiwan, Philippines and Hong Kong. Team members strive to live out their passion for adventure, travel and international competition, while helping to promote the value and protection of Asia's spectacular outdoor areas. The team is managed by Asia Pacific Adventure, and sponsors include: Champion System, The North Face, Specialized Bikes, High Performance Sports Limited, Feelfree Kayaks and Paradigm.
